Recently retired couple wishes to develop 40 acres of fields (10 acres) and woodland (30 acres) near the south end of Skaneateles Lake in upstate New York as permaculture, agroforestry, energy crops and/or organic crops and seeks suitable partnership with long term possibility of purchase. We have recently purchased an adjacent brick home ready for partner occupancy. Our main priority is to participate in the emerging sustainability movement to localize food, energy and light manufacturing and create strong community interaction and participation. We are flexible on lease and as to ideas of how to share in development costs and earnings. Our priority is to offer help to those with common interests. Our adjacent neighbor is also interested in participating and has 10 tillable acres and a small woodlot to add to above. Ideal for retired individuals with dream of sustainable development or younger individuals with second source of income looking for experience and longer term full engagement in sustainable living and development. |

Willing to have your own hand in growth within operation. Future negotiable. I have young children with possible interest. Farm stand/creamery ideas very appealing. I am willing to do all field work for someone interested in dairy. |

We are looking for a bright, energetic herdsman to work on our farm in exchange for salary and equity in livestock. This position would provide someone with an opportunity to begin to build his/her own herd and gain experience working on a medium sized, profitable dairy. |

UPDATED 4/2008. Farming Opportunity: Peacework Farm is looking for an experienced vegetable grower (or couple) interested in joining our partnership. We are 3 partners growing certified organic vegetables and herbs for a well established (20 years!) CSA based in Rochester, New York. The farm is located in very rural Wayne County near the village of Newark; 50 minutes drive east of Rochester. The 148-acre farm is owned and protected in perpetuity by the Genesee Land Trust. We grow crops and cover crops on approximately 20 of the acres under a long-term lease with the Land Trust, but we own outright the farm buildings, equipment, and wells on the property. There is no housing currently on the farm itself. We would like anyone seriously interested to meet us and see the farm during our 2008 growing season – our last CSA distribution is November 16. We would be willing to hire a potential partner (or partners) for a year or two before committing to joining the partnership. We do not grow for a high-end CSA so our income is very modest. It would be best for potential partners to be carrying little or no debt. The farm has no debt and no mortgage; the investment required would be modest and could be made through sweat equity. To learn more about our CSA, see www.gvocsa.org. |

Looking for business partner(s). I need someone with experience in organic farming (vegetables) and/or pasture fed chickens (also, possibly turkeys and goats in the future). I purchased a 20-acre dairy farm in December of 2005 in Chenango County. I won’t be using it as a dairy. I have approximately 4-5 acres (possibly more in the future) of well-fertilized cow pasture and would like to start growing organic vegetables on it. We have planted 30 apple trees, 10 pears, and 20 cherry trees on another part of the property for a u-pick-it in around 4-5 years. We would also like to start raising organic/pasture fed chickens for eggs. There is a large free stall barn for the chickens and housing and an attached room that can be set up for processing them. I can supply the farm, help, and a small tractor. I am open to different ideas and am flexible on the type of partnership. |

We are developing a maple sugar bush and are interested in meat goat farming and gardening. Our 70 acre farm is pleasantly located on the Moses Kill Creek with various soil types in Washington County, NY. It is an organic farming area with several farm markets nearby. We have all equipment for general farming and will consider other possibilities as the partner may desire. Room and board a possibility in a double bedroom with a shared bath.
